Description

Aunty Hotel in BEL Road is a small, very easy-to-miss, hole in the wall sort of a place. It is known only by the locals and they are probably lucky to know about it. Aunty Hotel doesn't actually have a name board, nor does it have a proper name. It is called by different names by people and these names are spread by word of mouth. It is also called Andhra mess by some. The people at this shop originally, and still want to call it Om Shakti.
The owner, Krishna Veni started off by selling only Bondas & Bhajjis. Now they sell Idli, Dosa (Masala, set, onion), with a Tamil Sambar (Not sweet and minimal or no veggies) and 3 kinds of chutneys (Tomato, Peanut and Coconut), in the mornings. They have a lunch menu including Pulao, Lemon rice, Chapati, Rasam, Sambar, Buttermilk, Bondas and Bhajjis.
They are still known for their very soft idlis, in which they do not add any soda.

At first look it may not be someone’s first choice for a breakfast, but the crowds outside this hole-in-the-wall joint beg to differ. One bite into the soft, melt-in-the-mouth idlis with the equally yummy chutney and I knew why people queued up for the food that the two lovely ladies served. Highly recommended.
