This particular Dosa Time on Sarjapur road was opened 2 years ago and is the oldest amongst a total of 5 outlets of the same chain (Sarjapur Road, Marathalli, Whitefield, Bellandur and AECS Layout). Kiran, the owner of the chain is originally from Mandya, Karnataka, but had moved to Mumbai in search of work and with the hope of learning something new. He was already familiar with South-Indian dosas and was interested in learning how to make Bombay style dosas. After his 5-year-long stay in Bombay, working under someone else, he decided to move back to Bangalore and start a dosa stall of his own. He set up his stall beginning with the 40 - 50 varieties of dosas that he learnt in Bombay and added some of his own unique creations to the menu. There are now a total of 90 varieties of dosas available at all outlets on all days. Although they keep adding new dosas as and when they think of something interesting, they do not plan to expand the menu much. The dosas are prepared on coal fired stoves.
