Directions

Mumbai Vadapavala is located opposite to BHS College, on the Aurobindo Marg. When one has to come from the 4th Block Bus Depot, one has to walk toward Eidgah Masjid (and straight ahead of it) and turn right at the signal. About 50 to 100m ahead stands the Mumbai Vadapavala.

Description

Mumbai Vadapavala, as the name suggests, specializes in Maharashtrian Chaat - and is most famous for its Vada Pav, Dabeli and Pav Bhaji. Owned by Mr Harish and Mr Srinivas Vittal, this place remains to be the most popular street eat out among college goers and shoppers around 4th Block. Located opposite to BHS First Grade College, Jayanagar, one can always find a number of groups of people standing outside the stall, relishing a light evening snack. One other well known snack here is the Delhi Sandwich (Also called the Bread Pakoda) - because Mumbai Vadapavala happens to be one of the first places to introduce it in the locality.

Special Information

  • This place can get crowded at around 5:00 PM. I'd hence suggest being there by 4:00 PM (or before that), to be able to go through the menu and order peacefully.

I have heard that Mumbai Vadapavala is claimed to serve Vada Pav closest in taste in comparison with those in Mumbai – and I have no say on that (I have never been to Mumbai) But I had my first Vada Pav here. It was everything I imagined it to be, and it did not disappoint at all.
One who visits must try the Bread Pakoda here too!
