Mr. Anand Dayal Dadu is known as the masterchef of the sweets industry in south-India. He started Anand Sweets as a small entrepreneurial dream in 1988, with one store in Commercial Street. Today, there are several outlets of Anand Sweets in various parts of Bangalore, and it is one of the largest manufacturing facilities of decadent Indian sweets, both south-Indian and north-Indian. Anand Sweets outlets serve a wide range of food products ranging from sweets, to evening snacks, different types of mixtures, chaat items and packaged dry fruits. Known for their strict adherence to quality and taste since two decades, the chain has patrons across Bangalore. At some of the Anand Sweets branches, they also serve authentic, main course North-Indian dishes and meals such as Chole Bhature, Paneer Tikka, North-Indian Thalis etc. that are reminiscent of the original dishes. The Paneer Tikka is among the best in Bangalore with soft, melt-in-the-mouth paneer, marinated and grilled to perfection. The Chole Bhature also reminds one of the dish back in Delhi. The North-Indian Thali is a hearty, filling meal with flavourful Dal Makhni, creamy Paneer gravy, aromatic pulao and hot tandoori rotis. Among sweets, Rasgulla, Rasmalai and Motichoor ladoo come highly recommended. The Koramangala branch also serves kulfi on a stick, which is difficult to find in Bangalore.
