Basavaraj's Bhajji Bandi
Capsicum Bonda, Mirchi Bajji.
JP Nagar
12th Cross Road Commercial Area, Jeewan Griha Colony, 2nd Phase, J. P. Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560078, India
When coming from Jayanagar to 2nd Phase, you should pass the RV Dental College, and about a kilometer ahead, you will spot a restaurant called 24th Main to your left. Turn to the left after that, and about 50m ahead stands Basavaraj's Bajji Bandi.
This bajji bandi was started about 10 years ago, by Mr Basavaraj of Tumkur - and his assistant, Kiran, from Mandya. He is too busy to talk or pose for pictures, because orders never seem to stop. This place is the most famous among residents and college goers for its Capsicum Bonda and Pudina Chutney. They also serve Alu, raw banana, chilli and onion bondas - in addition to the very famous Ambode. 'Look at the people here, they are the reason we are here. It makes me happy when people from as far as Chamarajpet come here to have bhajjis!', says Mr Basavaraj.
  • All the Bhajjis and Bondas are made on the spot so we suggest you wait for them while he fries them fresh. It is worth the wait.
