What awaits a person when he/she enters Dharwad Famous Mishra Pedha in Jayanagar, Bangalore is the fragrance of fresh, homemade ghee. This is the right place for people with a sweet tooth. I couldn't stop looking at the sweets on display, they looked like little pieces of artwork! Founded in 1936 by Sri Ganesh Mishra, it has five centres in Bangalore - Jayanagar, Indiranagar, Hanumanthnagar, Basaveshwara Nagar and Rajarajeshwari Nagar, the Indiranagar store being the first one among them. The store in Jayanagar was opened four years ago. Needless to say, it is famous for the Dharwad Pedha. They also serve light snacks, and you are likely to spot people from all age groups relishing the food here.
- One thing to note about Mishra Pedha is that the sweets (like the famous Mishra Pedha) are transported from Dharward (a town from North Karnataka famous for its cuisine) to the different outlets. This assures the customers that the food served here are fresh, and homemade.
