Started in 2013 by Mayur Dhond, Edward’s Yard is located in a beautiful coconut grove, just off the main Panjim – Margao highway or on the way from North Goa / Panjim to the Dabolim airport. With only nature and a few local houses around it, the setting couldn’t be better. The food is worth raving about too. Known for its sea food, Edward’s menu includes different preparations of fish. Mayur, a student of hotel management started his first restaurant called Courtyard in Panjim in 2011. Since that was a rented property, he decided to open his own place, right next to his home in Goa Velha, and Edward's Yard opened in Jan 2014.
Mayur developed the menu along with a celebrity chef friend who added unique dishes such as the Sri Lankan chicken and batter-fried vegetables along with the Goan delicacies. Edward's Yard is very popular with locals for the variety of fish and seafood, the courteous and helpful staff and the interesting menu items. It also has a good assortment of tandoori and Chinese dishes. Almost everything on the menu is good, which explains the sizable crowd at the joint every night. The Chicken Sri-Lankan comes especially recommended as does the Batter-fried mixed veg.
