Gujarati thali, Dabeli, Bombay Sandwiches
Dhokla, Sabudana Khichdi, Thepla, Sev Puri, Papdi Chaat, Iced Gola, Juices, Lassi.
One really does not expect to run into a traditional Gujrati Thali in the middle of Panjim but that’s just what Gujrat Lodge offers. When we hear that it was started in 1935 by Mr. Babulal Zaveri, and is still being run three generations later in exactly the same location, our wonder turns to respect. The Gujarati Thali is offered in the restaurant inside and consists of 2 bhajis, dal, 4 chapatis, rice, papad and buttermilk or chach. During shravan maas, they serve a special shravan thali. The counter outside, which was started 8 years ago, serves an extensive menu with everything that a Gujarati or Maharashtrian could want – dhokla, dabeli, sabudana khichdi, Bombay sandwiches, Thepla, Sev Puri, Papdi Chaat, Iced Gola, juices and lassi.
- Gujrati Thali – there is only one version – costs Rs. 100.
