Konark restaurant was founded in 1985 by Sri N Krishna Murthy. One of the famous vegetarian restaurants in Bangalore, this 18 year old establishment has two branches - Commercial Street and Residency Road. While they are multi-cuisine, they are known for their North-Indian fare especially during lunch and dinner. They also serve fresh South-Indian tiffin in the evenings when a lot of shopping-fatigued foodies from Commercial Street make a beeline for this popular joint. Their Sizzling Brownie is the best way to end a wholesome, flavourful meal at Konark.
- They explicitly state that their prime focus is hygiene and the same is visible at the restaurant premises and in the food served.
- Parking is a huge issue on Commercial Street. It's best to take public transport to get there. It is at a walking distance from the MG Road metro station and the Shivaji Nagar bus station.
- Commercial Street can get quite crowded in the evenings.
