Another one of Goa’s long-standing bakeries, Nicolau Bakery was started by Nicolau Cardozo in 1965. It baked different varieties of local bread for 35 years. In 2000, Albertina Cardozo, Nicolau’s daughter-in-law started a full-fledged bakery baking different varieties of cakes and snacks. She also extended it to include a small seating area so that customers could sit and enjoy the snacks right there at the bakery. The bakery is best known for its plum cake and the veg / beef / egg patties and cutlets. It also serves Rose Cookies, Biscuits, Boll and Bolhina (Goan Sweet).
