Manial, known as Umao (which means brother in Konkani) started this Umao Fast Food
cart in 1990, more than 25 years ago in Santa Cruz, a short distance from Panjim. It serves Cutlet Bread, a popular Goan street eat in which Beef, Pork or Chicken Cutlets are filled into Goan bread which is layered with mayo and topped with salad and a spicy curry. Goans love this quick eat and most cutlet bread carts and stalls see constant visitors. Sybil, Manial’s daughter, runs the stall along with her mother-in-law. She loves cooking and that is reflected in the wide variety of dishes she serves from her compact stall. The menu includes Beef Roast, Beef Xacuti, Beef Stew, Beef Chops, Beef Chilly Fry, Beef Croquettes, Tongue Roast, Pork Masala, Pork Stew, Sorpotel and Fish Chops.
