For me, almost every visit to 4th Block, Jayanagar ends with the little samosas from Shenoy Stores. Founded in 1971 by the couple Vittal and Shobha Shenoy as a little bunk selling homemade snacks, it is now one of the oldest shops in the locality and the most famous too. It remains to be the one of the very few 'junk food-free' outlets. From Holige to Chakli, from Chutney Powder to Pathrode, you can find all kinds of Indian snacks here - including sweets. They sell both wholesale and retail - and this was made obvious to me when I noticed a man buying 10 large packets of Mixture and other eateries, and loading them into his car! Retaining the soul of the old Bangalore, this place is a reminder of home!
- Their little Samosas and Ambodes deserve a special mention - they cost from Rs 1 to Rs 3. Many claim that they are the best Samosas in the whole of Bangalore.
